Are you visualizing yourself looking better? Wondering if it can really happen as simply as they make it look on TV? In my experience, if you have the will, the mindset and the goals in sight, then you have 3 of the 4 things I think are necessary to achieve that picture of yourself in your mind.
My Dad has always been an inspiration to me and he has encouraged my interest in the fitness field. I spent a lot of time at Florida Fitness during the summers working out, boxing, tanning, maintaining the studio and trying to learn the business from my Dad. As he started to give me a few clients of my own and let me train some of his clients when he had to be out, I realized that I really liked personal training and that I wanted to follow in my Dad’s shoes and have a future in this business.
As I shadowed my Dad, watched the other trainers at work and developed workouts for my own clients, I quickly realized how important motivation is to successfully achieve your goals.
In my opinion, motivation is that last essential piece of the puzzle needed to produce results. We all need motivation in different ways. I’ll be the first to admit that I achieve more when I have someone motivating me in my workout. So in my mind, that’s a really big part of my job as a trainer for somebody else.
I think most people seek a personal trainer for just that reason. I understand the importance of individuality and that we are all different and we all have different desires for how we want our body to look. Each of us is motivated by different things. In developing your workout, I promise to take into consideration your needs, lifestyle and fitness goals. And, believe it or not, I really can make it a fun hour for both of us!
